Chairman Moran Supports VA Budget Focused on Implementation of the MISSION Act’s Community Care Network

WASHINGTON – Today, Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee (SVAC) Chairman Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) delivered opening remarks for his hearing with U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Secretary Robert Wilkie regarding the review of the VA FY2021 Budget and FY2022 Advance Appropriations and oversight of CARES Act supplemental appropriations. During his opening statement, Sen. Moran expressed he was pleased to see a requested increase for Medical Community Care and mental health and suicide prevention services.

“I believe that whether the care is provided in the community or provided internal to the VA, both are VA care,” said Chairman Moran. “They are both a part of the Department of Veterans Affairs and they are not separated.”
