(Washington, DC)  Every other week the ?Washington Report? is produced by the office of U.S. Senator Larry Craig (R-Idaho).  Its purpose is to inform the public about what the senator is doing in the nation's capital city.

This week's edition reviews the accomplishments of Sen. Craig generally and examines his efforts on behalf of veterans everywhere.  It opens with the lighting of the National Christmas Tree in Washington, D.C., by Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert, and then covers passage of the National Energy Bill.

Hostest Iris Amador then reviews the efforts to pass the "Wounded Warrior" traumatic injury legislation, with comments from Ryan Kelly of the Wounded Warrior Project and Sen. Craig, followed by a review of the passage of a $1.5 billion emergency supplemental effort that Chairman Craig sought.  The last segement on veterans issues features Tiffany Petty, a widow whose husband was killed in Iraq.  Her comments led Sen. Craig to seek, and for federal officials to create, a one stop location for survivors to find the benefits they are entitled to.  (Should you need that information, see: http://www.vba.va.gov/Survivors.)
