Chairman Moran Leads Hearing with VA, VSOs to Review Pending Veterans Legislation
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (Kan.) – chairman of the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs – led a committee hearing today to consider 20 pending pieces of legislation with representatives from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Paralyzed Veterans of America, Wounded Warrior Project and Disabled American Veterans.
“These bills reflect the wide-range of issues facing military and veteran communities as well as the department tasked with serving them,” said Sen. Moran. “I am grateful for the sponsors of these bills and will work with them to make certain that they improve services for veterans, and I look forward to hearing to from our witnesses today about these proposals.”
Sen. Moran introduced eight of the 20 pieces of legislation that were discussed at the hearing, including the Coordinating Care for Senior Veterans and Wounded Warriors Act, Precision Brain Health Research Act, Veteran Caregiver Reeducation, Reemployment, and Retirement Act and VA License Portability Act.
